SOLAR POWER
This amazing self-powered radio is equipped with a solar panel that is adjustable up to 180 degrees for unlimited power from the sun. It can be tilted for most efficient use. The solar panel uses "polycrystalline silicon solar cells", the most advanced solar cells that are used for home and industrial solar energy. When not in use, the solar panel folds neatly out of the way behind the radio.
HAND CRANK GENERATOR
When other sources of power are not available, you can use the powerful hand-crank generator to charge the included internal nickel metal-hydride batteries. The hand crank dynamo will supply power to operate the radio so you can stay informed of unfolding events. It will also provide power for the flashlight, emergency red light, and the reading light. Two minutes of cranking will power this radio approximately 30 minutes (depending on volume level). Play time will be longer when using the earphone. The sturdy crank handle folds into the case when not in use.
AC POWER ADAPTER.The included AC power adapter can be used to power the radio by plugging it into one of your household electrical outlets if electrical power is available.
CAN ALSO BE POWERED BY AA BATTERIESHas a compartment for three optional "AA" batteries.
(They are not necessary for operation).
CELL PHONE, iPOD CHARGER and USB Port.This radio can charge devices such as cell phones, iPod/MP3, Blackberries and other devices that can be charged by USB ports. Includes cable and six power adapters. This radio can also be charged by using one of your computer's USB ports.

Listen to your local radio stations for news, music, weather and talk programs.
Standard AM band: 525 - 1710 KHz. Standard FM band: 88 – 108 MHz
WIDE-SPECTRUM SHORTWAVE RECEPTIONListen to radio stations in other parts of the United States and foreign countries. If your local radio stations are not broadcasting during a disaster you can listen to distant shortwave stations.Receives 3.2 MHz to 22 MHz on two bands:
Shortwave band 1: 3.2 MHz to 8 MHz
Shortwave band 2: 9 MHz to 22 MHz
NOAA HAZARDOUS WEATHER ALERT WARNINGSAutomatically receive hazardous weather warnings provided by NOAA. Be warned of impending tornados and other weather hazards. A standby mode will turn the radio on when it receives a hazardous weather warning.
WEATHER BANDSeven pre-set crystal controlled NOAA weather channels allow you to listen to your local weather forecasts and conditions from NOAA if you are in or near a large city. ("NOAA" means "National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration").
FIVE-LED READING LIGHTHas a bright (5-LED's) reading light built in to the back side of the solar panel.
It tilts 180 degrees for best illumination.
