Ready to Eat - No Cooking - Non-Perishable - Non Thirst Provoking Datrex® Food Rations are used by the American Red Cross, U.S. Coast Guard and many other groups and organizations around the world for use as emergency survival food. Datrex® Food Ration Bars are great tasting and ideal for disaster preparedness kits, survival kits, earthquake 72 hour kits, and liferafts.  Each vacuum sealed package contains 18 individual compressed food bars which contain 200 calories each.  One package of 18 bars is sufficient to sustain one person for 3 days. These emergency food bars are designed to be high in calories and low in protein to provide high energy, yet require minimal water for digestion.  Eating them will not make you thirsty.  The food bars are like a soft, light, crunchy cookie with a slight coconut flavor.  They are not affected by high heat (such as in a car trunk) or freezing. Each package measures 4 1/2 inches high, 3 1/2 inches wide, and 2 1/2 inches thick.  The shelf life is five years, and the date of manufacture is shown on each package.  The supply we now have in stock was manufactured in March, 2007.

NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION: Each bar contains 200 calories, 3gm of protein, 21gm of carbohydrate, and .75mg of sodium.  Total fat is 10gm, saturated fat is 2gm, mono-unsaturated fat is 7gm, and poly-unsaturated fat is 1gm.  Cholesterol is .378mg.  Additionally, each bar contains Vitamin A and C, plus Thiamine, Riboflavin, and Niacin. All natural ingredients.
