Why you need to store emergency drinking water

We often take our household water supply for granted.  However, when safe drinking water is unavailable it is more than just an inconvenience - it can become a life-threatening emergency.  Hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, earthquakes and winter storms are examples of natural disasters that can leave you without safe drinking water.  Interruptions in water service may be for only a short period of time, or for days.  Everyone should have a safe emergency water supply to sustain them during these situations.

The recommended absolute minimum amount of drinking water per person per
day is two pouches, but you should plan on using four or more pouches per day.

You can drink this purified water directly from the pouch.

Datrex® Emergency Water Pouches are approved by the U.S. Coast Guard and Canadian Coast Guard and exceeds their specifications.  The pouches can withstand 600 pounds of pressure per square inch.  They can be frozen and used as "cold packs."  The shelf life is five years, and the date of manufacture is stamped on each package.  Our present stock was manufactured in March, 2007.

Keep emergency water rations in your home, office, in the
glove compartment of your vehicle and in your backpack.
