Easy To Use!
Just unscrew the cap, fill the bottle with contaminated water and replace the cap.
Turn the bottle upside down and squeeze. You'll have pure, sweet, drinking water!
That's why we call it the "Bottoms Up" portable water filter.

This portable activated carbon water filter was designed to dramatically reduce a vast array of health-threatening contaminants from even the most questionable water source.

"Bottoms-Up" comes with a snap-on cup and cover. A four-ounce drinking cup snaps onto the bottle top, protecting the spout from dirt and contaminants.

Seychelle's "Bottoms-Up" produces over 100 gallons of guaranteed quality water. That's equivalent to more than 378 liters!

The 2.0 micron activated-carbon filter removes or reduces microscopic pathogens such as E-coli, Cryptosporidium and Giardia, offensive tastes, odors, chlorine, pesticides, silt, sand and sediment. Removes or greatly reduces harmful heavy metals such as aluminum, asbestos, cadmium, chromium, copper, lead, mercury, etc.

Unpurified drinking water may contain four things that pose serious health risks:
  • Protozoan parasites
  • Toxic bacteria
  • Harmful viruses
  • Poisonous chemicals.

In addition to having a bad odor and taste, water from questionable sources may be contaminated by a variety of microorganisms, including bacteria, virus, and parasites that cause diseases such as dysentery, cholera, typhoid, and hepatitis. Bacteria include commonly-known organisms such as Campylobacter, E-coli, Cholera, and Salmonella.

All water of uncertain purity should be treated and filtered before use.

This activated carbon filter will remove dangerous protozoan parasites and the heavy metals mentioned above, but it will not remove viruses from water. If you suspect virus to be present in the water, use one of the methods described below to be completely safe:

For virus removal, treat water first with iodine tablets, following manufacturer's directions. Filter iodine-treated water through the Seychelle filter for the ultimate in protection. The filter's activated carbon core will remove the iodine and its taste. We recommend "Potable Aqua" tablets. Click here for information.

The water filter will remove dangerous parasites such as Cryptosporidium, Giardia, etc. that iodine will not kill.

An inferior alternative to iodine treatment is chlorine:
According to the Red Cross, this is how to purify water before filtering:

  1. Bring it to a rolling boil for about one full minute.
  2. Let it cool at least 30 minutes. Water must be cool or the chlorine treatment described below will be useless.
  3. Add 16 drops of liquid chlorine bleach per gallon of water, or 8 drops per 2-liter bottle of water. Stir to mix. Sodium hypochlorite of the concentration of 5.25% to 6% should be the only active ingredient in the bleach. There should not be any added soap or fragrances. A major bleach manufacturer has also added Sodium Hydroxide as an active ingredient, which they state does not pose a health risk for water treatment.
  4. Let stand 30 minutes.
  5. If it smells of chlorine. You can use it. If it does not smell of chlorine, add 16 more drops of chlorine bleach per gallon of water (or 8 drops per 2-liter bottle of water), let stand 30 minutes, and smell it again. If it smells of chlorine, you can use it. If it does not smell of chlorine, discard it and find another source of water.
The chlorine taste can then be removed by filtering through a Seychelle portable water filter.
NEVER put hot water through a water filter!

In addition to other life-threatening contaminants,
the "Bottom's Up" filter removes the following percentages of these dangerous pathogens:

Giardia: 99.9361%
Cryptosporidium: 99.97566%
Anthrax: 99.9999%
E. Coli: 99.10%

A portable water filter is a necessary part of every emergency survival kit.

Pliable 30-ounce neoprene bottle for long life, and does not impart a plastic flavor to the water.

Dimensions: 10 inches high, three inches in diameter.
