Biological Filter Bottle with Sub-Micron Fiber & Level 2 Filters. Provides clean, safe water for drinking or cooking from contaminated water sources such as lakes, ponds, rivers and streams. This 27-ounce bottle will treat 80 gallons (or 480 bottles) of water. It has two independent filters that are connected by an adapter, easily allowing the replacement of either filter. The "Level 2" carbon composite filter removes 90% of the chlorine & aids in the removal of lead, mercury, copper, VOCs, and PCBs at a flow rate of 10ml/sec. This carbon composite filter functions as a pre-filter, reducing small particulate matter and extending the life of the Sub-Micron Biological Filter. The Sub-Micron Biological Filter provides for the removal of bacteria, cysts, and protozoa from contaminated water. In independent testing conducted in accordance with EPA protocol, the Sub-Micron Biological Filter removed over 99.99% of cysts and 99.9999% bacteria at EPA protocol concentrations. The carbon composite filter also removes the taste of a disinfectant that may be added if viral contamination of the water is suspected. To use this product, fill it with water (see instructions) then squeeze the bottle to pass the water through the dual filter elements into a container of your choice. This portable water filter will give you safe, clear water for cooking and drinking if you are caught in a natural or man-made disaster. PLEASE NOTE:  Water filters do not remove viruses.  For this reason, water filters should be used with a disinfectant such as Potable Aqua or chlorine which will inactivate the viruses that filters miss.  Water filters will remove sediment and unpleasant tastes and odors such as iodine and chlorine.
